Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2001, Mia Domenech
Puras is a multimedia artist whose practice spans
sculpture, installation, video, and collage. Living and
working between Paris, Eindhoven, and Puerto Rico,
she draws deeply from the ecological and political
realities of the island where she grew up.
Her work examines the entanglement of landscape,
identity, and culture within Puerto Rico’s colonial
condition, revealing often overlooked narratives
embedded in its environment. Through a decolonial
lens, she reconstructs and reframes these stories,
creating pieces that invite critical reflection on place,
memory, and power.
Mia received the Fine Arts Jury Honors Award upon
completing her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and
holds a Master’s degree in Contextual Design from
Design Academy Eindhoven. Her work has recently
been exhibited at Milan Design Week and Dutch
Design Week.
